Eligibility for Undergraduate Courses
The university offers Bachelors Degree courses under three faculties with as many as eleven majors to choose from. Currently all international (English language based) undergraduate courses are being offered only at the Bangkok campus. The details of the programs can be found in the Undergraduate Overview section of our website.
The primary criteria for getting admission in one of the undergraduate courses at STIU is a High School Completion Certificate (any one of the following) & official transcripts:
- M.6 or Grade 12 or its equivalent from any accredited Thai or foreign institution.
- GCSE or GCE "O" level with no less than "C" in 5 subjects.
- Test of GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (GED) with no less than "C" in 5 subjects.
Eligibility for Graduate Studies
The university offers Masters Degree courses under the Faculty of Business Administration with four majors to choose from. The details of the programs can be found in the Graduate Overview section of our website.
To be eligible for admission into the graduate program at STIU, a prospective student is required to possess:
- A valid Bachelors Degree completion certificate & transcripts
English Proficiency
Irrespective of the chosen level (Undergraduate or Graduate), any student for whom English is a second language, is also required to submit any one of the following English Proficiency Test Scores:
- TOEFL - with a minimum score of 550 (Computer-based: 187)
- IELTS - with a minimum score of 5.0
- SAT - with a minimum score of 1000
For students who do not posses TOEFL, IELTS or SAT an alternative is the STIU English Placement Test which is provided for a nominal fee upon arrival at the campus. The duration of this test is 45 minutes and it consists of multiple-choice as well as audio sections. The minimum passing percentage is 70.
Students who wish to take this test beforehand can do so by signing-up for proctored placement tests (over the internet) that are available with our overseas counselors. Students availing this opportunity are not required to take the test again upon arrival. Please consult your counselor for further details.

Remarks: Students failing to secure the required English placement test score will be advised to join the STEP (Stamford Total English Program) prior to joining any of the international degree programs.
