The SPDC’s goal is to provide corporate English training in a move toward enabling working adults to pursue career growth. Following the university’s success in improving the English competency of its undergraduate students, Stamford International plans to expand its course offer by enhancing the professional development of working adults. Starting 1 September 2016, English Skills for the Future courses will be provided at the university’s Asoke Campus Learning Center.

“English language competency is a crucial contributor to career development. Thailand is ideally placed for multinationals to set up operations given its location, increasing multiculturalism, open environment and skilled workforce,” said David Valente, Director of Professional Development at Stamford.  “We have a proven record in improving the English language skills of our undergraduates and have the expertise to enable them to achieve their career goals.”

The new suite of courses includes Communication Skills for Support Staff, Working in Multicultural Teams, Speaking Clearly: English Pronunciation, Successful Presentation Skills, Negotiation Skills, Virtual Communication and Train the Trainer Skills.  All of our courses can be tailored for a specific corporate need and/or individually customized.

Also under the SPDC umbrella, Stamford International University is launching a suite of prestigious Cambridge English (part of the University of Cambridge, UK) teacher training courses.  These include the CELTA Online (a 160-hour blended learning course for teachers of adult English language learners) and the CELT-S and CELT-P (120-hour blended learning courses for secondary and primary English teachers in compulsory education), aiming to enhance the classroom abilities of English language teachers. All three certificates are highly practical English language teaching qualifications that provide essential knowledge, hands-on teaching experience and classroom confidence to qualify as a competent teacher of English.

“Employers around the world welcome English language teachers with Cambridge English teaching qualifications. They really are a passport for career advancement,” said Valente.
