Three Communication Arts Students win prizes in national competition

January 30th 2016

January 30th 2016 was Thai Rotary day with an event at the Suan Lumpini Park, Bangkok. Three first-year Stamford students from the Department of Communication Arts (Bilingual Program) received awards from His Excellency Mr. Palakorn Suwanrath (Privy Councillor). These students were the winners of the students’ photo and article-writing contest entitled: “Be a Gift to the World” and were competing against 134 students nationwide.

The students who received the awards were:

1. Mr. Keeramet Chuenvanich
First Runner-up Award (with plaque, certificate and 5,000 Baht reward)
2. Ms. Natcha Donphanphon
Honorable Mention (with plaque, certificate and 3,000 Baht reward)
3. Ms. Kanyanat La-ard
Honorable Mention (with plaque, certificate and 3,000 Baht reward)

Also at the event were five Communication Arts students who worked as “voluntary journalists” to welcome guests, and distribute the press kits and souvenirs to media from television, newspapers and magazines. Working as “voluntary journalists” it gave them the opportunity to gain real-life work experience.

The Rotary Club expressed their appreciation to the Stamford students by giving them certificates and commenting that they were committed to their work, punctual and were able to solve on-spot problems excellently.
