On 10 October 2019, Stamford International University, Thailand employee townhall meeting was held at Stamford\u2019s Rama 9 campus. Mr. Guangyu Li, a member of China\u2019s National People\u2019s Congress, vice president of China\u2019s Private Education Association, and Chairman of Yuhua Education Corporation; Ms. Hua Li (Lisa), committee member of the All-China Youth Federation and CEO of Yuhua Education Corporation, and all the staff members at the Rama 9 Campus, the Hua Hin Campus, and the Asoke Learning Center attended the meeting.<\/p>\n

A new appointment was announced by Chairman Li, as STIU President Dr. Andrew Scown had stepped down to attend personal matters in his home country. The Stamford International University Council appointed assistant president Dr. Apitep Saekow as acting president on a temporary basis while a permanent replacement for the position of University President is found.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, Chairman Li expressed his gratitude to Dr. Andrew Scown for his contributions while in office, and he extended his sincere appreciation to all staff members who devote themselves to the university. Chairman Li highlighted Yuhua\u2019s recognition and appreciation of STIU, Thailand and Thai culture. \u201cIf the higher education sector owned by Yuhua is a crown, STIU is the precious pearl set in the crown\u201d said Chairman Li. He also said that Yuhua has full confidence of STIU\u2019s future and will continue working together with all staff members to make STIU become stronger.<\/p>\n

Dr. Apitep Saekow, who took the temporary position of acting president, gave a brief speech. He expressed his appreciation for the great trust he has received from Yuhua. With the joint efforts of all STIU colleagues and Yuhua, he can see a better and brighter future for STIU.<\/p>\n
